Brookline is a great place to visit for a day trip for all ages. If you are tired of the hustle and bustle of a big town like Boston, taking a quick trip to Brookline will de-stress you with its small-town vibe. Although small, it’s a suburb with great amenities, so you will not run out of things to do. 

Historical tourist attractions

Brookline, MA, has many historical tourist attractions if that is what you want. There are many colonial buildings to explore, including the Edward Devotion House. The other historical site you can visit on a lazy afternoon or free weekend is the Fredrick Law Olmsted National Historic Site or some beautiful historic nature parks.

If museums are your thing, head over to the Long Year Museum, where you will find some incredible exhibits based on Mary Baker Eddy, the founder of Christian Science. You can also visit the Larz Anderson Auto Museum, which has an excellent collection of significant historic cars.

Shop, Eat and Drink

Some of us like to shop, eat, and drink on vacation – Coolidge Corner will give you many venues to do that! Coolidge Corner is a retail center in Brookline where you will find lots of fun things to do. Bar Vlaha is conveniently located on Beacon St, down the street from Coolidge Corner. Indulge in Greek cuisine while enjoying refreshing Greek spirits, cocktails, and more. There are cafes, shops, pubs, and even a movie theater in Coolidge Corner. The place is always bustling with people and is a great place to spend a day. 

Go to the Theater.

You cannot miss the film show at Coolidge Corner as it has a bright neon sign. It is a great place to spend an evening before or after dinner with a loved one. You can watch great movies as you munch on snacks and sip on beer or wine. You can also take kids to a movie as they regularly screen child-friendly films. An interesting fact about the theater is that 1906 it was a church. In 1933 it was turned into a movie theater that has run successfully till today.
